The opening chapters of Matthew’s gospel make the stunning announcement that Jesus is ‘God with us’, the saviour for our sins, the fulfilment of all God’s promises and the realisation of the hopes of Israel. Matthew then takes us on the journey from Galilee to Jerusalem and the cradle to the cross – showing us the Jesus who the hope and saviour of all the world.
