Courses we run
Here at Norwest Anglican we run a range of courses – and all for one purpose. We love to see people flourish. Flourish as they meet Jesus; flourish as they find a home at Norwest; flourish in their marriages and families; and flourish in their understanding of the Bible. Like more info? Whether you are looking for answers to some of life’s big questions or just interested in the history of one of the world’s most influential figures, Christianity Explored will intrigue, entertain and challenge. Because our heartbeat at Norwest is for people to come to know Jesus Christ as both the Lord and saviour of the world, we run this course four times a year. Hosted in people’s homes. the course follows one of the earliest biographies written about Jesus’ life, and wrestles with his modern significance. More info?
Christianity for Life
This ten-week course is designed for new and not so new Christians who are seeking to deepen their understanding of the key elements of Christianity. Addressing issues such as Why go to church? Who wrote the Bible? And what is prayer? Christianity for Life will make sense of why Christians have lived, loved and worshipped as they have, for two thousand years.
This course has been designed to help people find their way into partnership in Gospel ministry at Norwest Anglican. It often seems that people learn what a church ‘is all about’ by picking up a bit here and a bit there over years. Our hope is that by participating in this course, over three weeks you will gain an understanding of the characteristics that mark our Life Together as we live for Jesus and His kingdom.
The Marriage Course
Recognising that God has placed us in a community full of young families, we believe that helping people strengthen their marriages is a great way to serve them. Each year we have people both from within our church and from the broader community join us for this seven-week course.
The Parenting Course
We all long to have children who grow up to be well balanced and well-rounded adults. But how do we get them there? And who said parenting would be so tricky? The Parenting Course runs over five weeks and helps mums and dads discover practical tools that will help build a strong family. These include how we can meet our children’s needs, set effective boundaries, teach healthy relationships and pass on the values we hold to be important.
In every church there are people who long to better understand God’s Word. Theology 101 helps people know God more fully as they understand God’s word more deeply. Lectured by a team of keen Bible students, Theology 101 is for those who have the time and the ability to develop a more theological framework for reading the Bible and engaging our world.
